P. K. Drake grew up in Indiana and is the oldest of twelve children. She is a wife, mother, grandmother, Sunday School teacher and a girl's club leader.

She has worked with children for thirty years in different capacities and has loved each and every minute of it. God has blessed her with the love of many things, especially the great outdoors.

She enjoys the lakes, ponds, ocean, trees, mountains, birds, and animals which inspires her to write poetry and anecdotes. P. K. Drake has also published poems. To her, life is an adventure and everything is a story waiting to be written. She feels that you are never to old to learn or to follow a dream.
